Imaging technologies provide scientists with several powerful approaches Imaging systems can be used to study cell proliferation and motility. Here one of the major issues is that the experiment may run for several days, and as a result it is necessary to maintain cell viability and where ever possible multiplex the experiment. By this we mean use an XYZ stage to records and visit several hundred different cell positions/experiments. More advanced fluorescence labelling techniques allow researchers to monitor the transfer of genetic material during cell differentiation. Here the emphasis is nearly always on image resolution and system sensitivity as the amounts of material being imaging may be relatively small. For over ten years Digital Pixel have been working with major CRUK and university laboratories in this sphere of research. Our systems are recognised as being probably the most reliable in the field.
